About Sonoma Vintage Cabinets

A cabinetmaker since 1984, Neal Walden started an apprenticeship, under a Swedish Master Cabinetmaker, Willy Ekstrand. In these formative years, fluency with traditional hand tools was a foundation which supported all the other cabinetmaking skills. This attention to hand tools, still imparts wonderful touches to our cabinets today. This "hand work" advantage dramatically sets our work apart from rival firms.

As the owner and senior product designer, Neal is passionate about the whole interior environment and cabinetry's contribution evoking a "feel" that draws a visitor to linger in a space. An avid student of architecture and sensitive to proportion and the application of "quiet, thoughtful" design, this ethic is the most prevailing governance as designs are created. Neal finds design inspiration from art and architecture, travel experiences and life in a wine country region.

The success of this compact design offering has filled many homes with cabinets that are impossible to "date". This fulfills Neal's creed: "Exceptional details make timeless spaces".
